My Story: Writer

I began writing seriously in 2020, but I have been writing all my life. Poems tucked away in drawers, stories stapled into paper, hours pored over an essay—the written word provided a much-needed respite from an anxious and insecure childhood.

Growing older, I grew tired of writing—it became too attached to academia and accolades—but found a rejuvenation during the pandemic when I turned to poetry to help me process my emotional wounds.

I found that writing was like alchemy—once the words were on the page (or the notes app), I felt relieved of the emotional burden, and took great pride and pleasure in turning my inner turmoil into something beautiful.

It was at this time I sought out the natural world for solace and inspiration—with a deepening connection to myself came a desire to engage more with the world around me.

I began to see myself in nature—feel myself as nature—and came to understand of one of the fundamental spiritual crises of our time: a disconnection to nature is a disconnection to ourselves, and both must be restored if we wish to survive, and thrive, on this planet.

My passion for nature found an avenue in my writing, and since then I've used my words to bring people closer to the earth—from publishing my first poetry collection Woman of Nature, to writing and speaking for Resurgence & Ecologist, collaborating and creating for LUSH and the National Trust—writing has become my own form of activism for a cause I care dearly about.

I am currently working on , a culmination of my philosophy, Harmonious Nature...
